Personality: Lovino is a very private individual. He doesn't like to see public displays of affection and he doesn't like to be part of them. Anything beyond flirting with a woman causes him to blush furiously and unless women are present, curse profusely. He just prefers things to be slow and love to be something two people share without the rest of the world having to see. That is, when he's buying into the notion of love in the first place, which he often doesn't. Instead, he sees it as an ideal for storybooks or maybe certain people. Never something everyone could have.
While he acts like he's really superior and better than everyone else, he's actually quite self-conscious. He doesn't understand what someone else would see in him or why they'd rather be around him than his more outgoing little brother. Verbally, he'll complain and nag that it's really not his fault, but everyone else's, but he's rarely so sure. So he doesn't accept compliments well and can get really stuck on insults. To keep people from being close enough to do either, he maintains a rude, caustic exterior. When he's called on his attitude, he won't back down unless it becomes violent. Once that happens, he'll try to run away unless it's obvious he'll win.
Appearance: Lovino is a shorter male, but by no means tiny beyond reason. His musculature has nice toning to it without the appearance of someone who engages in regular weight training. By body type, you'd assume he spent at least some time during the week doing physical activity. His brown eyes are usually locked into a scowl or disinterested look, rarely ever warm to anyone aside from pretty ladies. His brown hair is nicely kept with the except of a lone, strange curl that refuses to be tamed. As he believes it's part of his pride as an Italian, he dresses well and spends a good part of his paycheck keeping up on fashions and maintaining a wardrobe of quality fabrics. He tends to slouch when he's standing or walking.

Reason for joining: Wants to become a chef in his own right, but needs more practice. Enjoys making food because it allows him to make a product covertly and so then he knows any praise is genuine.
History:Lovino was the first of three children in a pretty large family in Rome. He was very well received upon birth, his family celebrating the new arrival but as soon as his first little brother was born, it all seemed to go out the window. Lovino didn't feel like anyone paid much attention to him, so he got into the habit of making up reasons. He assumed there had to be something that made Feliciano better than him, but he also understood that the easiest way to get attention was to act out. He was never especially nice to Feliciano or their baby brother, yet neither seemed to hold it against him much. Once he was old enough to wander off, he spent little time at home. His gruff exterior made making friends difficult and he never kept any for long. The only people that ate lunch with him were his little brother and his little brother's friends, which was just plain embarrassing.
His grades were largely horrid, but he managed to skate by and somehow got into a culinary school. Finally away from everyone related to his past life, he actually did better. He was still reclusive, but his work was decent and his teachers thought he had a good hand with food, but also believed that he lacked creative vision. He graduated after four years and managed to land a job as the back up chef for the busy time slots.
RP sample:Honestly, he was intimidated just walking in. This wasn't the first time he had been in the restaurant, but it was the first since he had been hired. Hell, the interview hadn't bothered him as much as this. His first shift and everyone who came in might be tasting something made him. Then they'd all speak about how good or how filling it was. Maybe they'd like it, maybe they'd be pissed. Shoot, why did he have to care? But he did. He wanted this to go well. Cooking had been the first thing Lovino felt like he was getting right, he didn't have a back up. Each step toward the kitchen felt like it took a ton of effort and didn't get him anywhere. Somehow he still made it to the door and even more miraculously, inside it.
Lovino glared at everyone already at work. He knew they were looking at him out of the corner of their eyes, already judging him before he started doing anything. Well to hell with them! What did their opinion matter? It didn't. Only his boss and his customers and they could go to hell too. Hmph. The nerve of some people. He made his way over to his work station and re-acquainted himself with the set up. Everything was where it had been on orientation. Good. Someone would have been hearing about it if not.
