Personality: Antonio is a small ball of sunshine. His attitude towards everything is almost always optimistic. This makes it very easy for him to make friends, or what he calls friends. Even if the person says they want nothing to do with him, he will continue to treat that person as a friend. He’s not the brightest person out there, but he’s not completely stupid; it just takes him a little while to understand some things.

He is a much laid back and relaxed person. When he’s not busy doing other things like work or gardening, he can be found lounging around-most of the time in the sun-or asleep. He’s also not really known to think out what it is he’s about to say. His relaxed demeanor means that sometimes the words just flow out without him thinking about it first. This gives others the impression that he is lacking in the brains department. But that’s far from the truth. He’s actually an intellectual, he just chooses not to always act smart all the time.

Appearance: Antonio is a tall, tanned, and lanky man; but he isn’t weak. His arms and legs toned from the constant farming he had done for most of his life. His hair is a dark chocolate color and always tastefully tussled; not that he’s into looking good, he just never gets up and styles his hair. His eyes are probably one of the most striking features on his face. They are bright green and always sparkling with enthusiasm. Along with them, his smile also blinds people; it’s like a fire that radiates warmth. Those around him can either feel one of two ways; really happy or really annoyed.

Experience: Self taught; growing up he was exposed to the different foods of his native country.
Reason for joining: He enjoys cooking so much, why not share it with other…plus money is nice.

History: Antonio lived most of his life in Spain. He only recently moved here, so his English isn’t the best. He grew up with his mother; his father left the house when he was little.
Without a male in the house, Antonio started to act out. He started hanging out with the wrong crowd and getting into all sorts of trouble. He hardly ever went to school, and was constantly getting caught by the police for acting up. He was a handful to his mom, who would constantly cry over what he had become.
Around the age of 16, he moved with his mom to a more rural area of Spain to help his aunt and uncle on their farm. He learned to be happy with what he has, which wasn’t much. And he also learned how to work hard. His years spent there were what made him the happy cheerful guy that he is today.
There he also learned to cook from his aunt and mom. It seemed to be an outlet for his pent up anger to chop into a bright red tomato and watch the juices run out.

Antonio sat his bags down by the door and stepped through the door frame. Today was the day he was going to set out and become something other than a delinquent child.
He was shocked to find that throughout all his years of life, his mother had been saving up to send him to America to live. She would miss him terribly, but she felt that he would do bigger things on his own and away from here. He didn’t really want to leave her, due to the fact that he had grown closer to her; but if this is what she wished, then that’s what she was going to get.
He looked out over the land he had been living on for the past couple of years. He was going to miss it; being able to grow stuff naturally, then cook it with his aunt and mom. Maybe when he got to New York, he could find some place to grow a little garden. He had heard stories about the city, and couldn’t wait to see that it was like for himself. Having no high school or college education did seem a little scary, but he knew that if he just showed that he was a hard worker, that he would be fine.
