Name: Tino Väinämöinen
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Hometown: Helsinki, Finland

Personality: For the most part, Tino’s as sweet as a bowl of strawberries and cream. He’s always smiling and ready to listen to people’s problems, being very thoughtful and kind. He may occasionally adopt an almost motherly attitude towards people and their problems, being a good listener and helping them out. He can also easily enjoy the simpler things in life, as well as the finer and more obscure ones. A little dopey at times, he can misinterpret actions and end up causing a mess, which makes him feel upset.

Occasionally, if you catch him at the wrong time, you’ll see that his smile is a little forced. He’ll get agitated and fiddle with his clothes or whatever he has on hand. He tends to be a little guarded, but that's most often around strangers or in an unfamiliar environment. He’s weary and listens to the entire goings on around him. Sometimes, though, he’d act as though he’s oblivious, with a sweet smile on his face to lull you into a false sense of security. He hopes that no one would know the difference...

It’s rare that he has to put on this façade, because he only does it when he feels truly threatened. If you can make Tino feel that way, it’s a definite feat. But usually, he’s chirpy, on-the-balls-of-his-feet Tino, who'll dance and sing when no one's looking.

That aside, Tino's interests hang more on the romantic side of things. He enjoys to sit down with a good romance novel and let himself be sucked into the unrealistic world of men carrying their sweethearts along the beach during sunsets... But that's not all he's into. He loves the world of mystery, and is quite fond of supernatural cases in stories and documentaries on them.

Appearance: For Tino, let's start from the feet up. He has petite feet, often encased in small white trainers, no socks. They’re accessorised with a cute little dog he found, known as (Bloody) Hana-Tamago, who has occasionally chewed on the very trainers he wears. Moving up slightly, his pale slim legs are clad in denim trousers of soft blue (A colour he favours). They're his favourites, you see, so he has more than one, in case he looses a pair. Furthur up, there's a hankerchief hanging out of his pocket because, well, he never goes out without one. Just in case he needs it. Then there's the belt above that. He does happen to be marginally thin, but his belts are mainly a decoration. They tend to be wide but simply decorated with a small metal buckle.

Even furthur up, there's his jacket of a darker blue, to match his trousers. Before moving up, also note his long, thin fingers. Ideal for playing the piano... If he knew how to. His neck is long and slender, very swan-like and elegant. Resting daintily on that neck was a perfectly shaped head, framed by soft, white-
blond bangs swept to one side of his face. On top of his head perches a hat. It's a white beret, which you will never see him without, ever.

The most prominant thing about Tino, however, the thing that sticks out the most, are his wide violet-blue eyes which shine with happiness and delight almost all of the time. Certainly they are the most outstanding features of him.

This blossomed his interest in the supernatural.

(And just a little extra stuff:)

Strengths:
- His awareness of his surroundings
- His positive attitude
- He listens to people and gives them genuinely helpful advice. This is a skill which is apparently quite difficult to come across.
- His sweet appearance. It can be deceiving.
- Motivation. He can be motivated to do anything, even if it means facing a scary, scary ghost!
- Patience. It’s important, and he finds he has to use it often. This is probably what keeps him sane.

Weaknesses:

- He’s too emotional. Because of this, his happy and bubbly personality is occasionally broken by bursts of strong emotions such as tears of sadness. Or almost uncontrollable laughter.
- Cute things. He’ll melt before them and forget what he’d been doing. Cute things include Puppies and small children.
- When trying to speak his mind to more than one person at a time, his voice is often over-looked.
- He’s not very bright. Not book-smart. He can kick your ass, but when it comes to Pythagoras’ theorem, he’s stumped.
- His self-esteem isn’t very high, he believes people which tell him he’s “Ugly” or “Dumb”, but , he’ll look in the mirror and think “I’m… A good looking person.” So it’s only a weakness sometimes.

Occupation: Waiter
Experience: This is his first time waiting, but he seems to show potential.
Reason for joining: He was short of money, and saw a sign asking for employees, so he applied. They were a bit wary at first, but got the job quickly enough.

History:

Born in the center of the busiest city in Finland, Tino grew up with his loose and easy going grandparents in a large manor house. He was well loved and looked after, but his grandparents were careful not to spoil him. They’d restrict his allowance and make him do chores, which Tino was more than happy to do, because they felt rewarding when completed.

Tino reckons he had the best life anyone could ask for; independence from his grandparents when needed and money for when he was having trouble supporting himself. His education was top quality, and his grades were above average because his grandparents encouraged his learning and praised him for everything.

At the age of 17, however, rebellion kicked in and Tino left home, after getting some of his qualifications a good few years early. He travelled to America, where business and commercialism was the highest in the world. He got a small flat in the middle of the city, with the money that his grandparents gave him before he left, and settled in quite nicely. The only problem was his English was poor at best. So he spent a year being taught the language, and has it pretty well, though occasionally he’ll slip and it’d come out strange.

Because of this setback, job-finding was harder than ever. It was just his luck to stumble across a restaurant looking to hire. One thing he could manage easily enough was listening to English and writing in English. He could do that fine. So he snatched up the job as quickly as he could. Still a little dubious of him, however, the owner of the restaurant wasn’t sure if he could manage, so Tino’s set out to prove himself.

There it was. The train that would take Tino away from his home-town. At least he would be riding for free, for the last carriage would be packed with people who can’t afford to ride properly and settle for standing on or next to the bales of hay for farms and various other places with stables. The train slowed to a stop and people hopped on or off. Tino squeezed in with the other poor people and tried to hold onto something. Although, the sheer number of people was keeping him upright, with no place to fall.

Tino rode for a fair few hours, and was growing weary of his trip. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. O, how he yearned for his grandmother to tuck him into his cosy bed back home. But no! He shook his head vigorously and took a deep breath. He was out to make money, not feel sorry for himself! Ok, this looked like a good place to get off, so Tino hopped off and continued on, persevering solely for his grandmother.

After a few days more of travelling, Tino was about ready to collapse. However, he walked and walked, convinced he could hear music coming from somewhere. Though it may have been his imagination, he walked and walked. Oh! Was that…? It was!

There was a brightly coloured tent in the distance, in its blazing (and quite overwhelming) glory. Tino’s knees trembled as he picked up his pace. There was a person there, as well! His breath came out in uneven pants, but a grin was set on his face. Charging towards what was unquestionably a circus, Tino felt a rush of pride swamp him.

To the man, he called out, “Excuse me! O, excuse me! I’m Tino! And I’ve come to be a part of your circus!” Once the sentence was out, Tino’s knees hit the soft, dewy grass, and he collapsed, his breath coming out in rough pants. He passed out.
